Passionately Built Custom Wine Cellars in Orange County, CA
A Satisfied Customer in Orange County
One of the best custom wine cellars built was for a client in Orange County, California. The client shared that the reason for her seeking Coastal’s service was because she was tired of having to travel 20 miles to her wine storage. She frequently hosts parties and attends wine dinners and traveling back and forth to her wine storage was incredibly inconvenient and sometimes forced her to use only the limited amount of wines in her home. She deemed that the best solution was to build a wine cellar right in her own house.
The goal in this wine storage project was to create a custom wine cellar with elegance and class. The Orange County wine cellar client holds many tastings and wine parties with people who know and appreciate good wine. She wanted to be sure that her cellar preserved the quality of the wines and also created an elegant experience for her friends and visitors. The challenge, though, was that the client had a certain window for budget. This limitation was solved by Coastal through the use of an affordable yet durable material for her wine cellar.
Another challenge was to achieve a beautiful wine cellar that can store more than 2000 wine bottles within the boundaries of a limited space. This challenge was confidently taken on by Coastal and the result was impressive. Coastal determined that the solution was to design several unique wine racks that maximized space.
Furthermore, the client’s wine collection included bottles of varied sizes, including champagne bottles and Pax Syrah. It was impossible to store all these in standard racking. Coastal’s solution was to provide a special feature in the racking that can hold any wine bottle regardless of size.
Premium Redwood: Affordable and Durable
Coastal is expert in their craft because they make sure that they design custom wine cellars not only with functionality but also with beauty and durability. In order to solve the problem of a limited budget without compromising style, Coastal used quality red wood for the client’s custom wine cellar. This type of wood is known both for its durability and affordability. Coastal had the wood coated with lacquer in order to protect it from spills and thus further increasing its longevity. Moreover, the material has a deep red color that puts class to the whole wine cellar. The overall effect was impressive.
Large Sized Bottle Openings
The most outstanding feature of the custom wine cellar, and one that the client was enthusiastic about, was the 3 ¾ X 3 ¾ inches wine bottle opening in the wine racking. These large sized bottle openings benefited her in that all the wine bottles in her collection were able to fit in the racks. In fact, any wine bottle in the market can be stored in these custom wine cellars, from standard sized bottles to 3L to 6L types. The client was amazed when bottles that she usually stored in the champagne area she was able to store in standard wine bottle racks.
Double Storage Feature
Then there is the double storage feature incorporated in one of the cellar walls which provided solution for the client’s problem with limited space. This feature helped her have increased wine storage without taking up extra square footage. The client was able to put in one wine then add another into the same wine rack sliding the first into the back. This feature adds to the ease and functionality in the use of this custom wine cellar.
Custom High Reveal Display Row
Another feature worth noting is the high reveal display row that tilts the wine bottles on a 15 degree angle 40 inches above the finish floor. This custom feature helps the client manage her wine well because she can store like wines above and below the display area. What’s more, this high reveal display gave character to the room.
Beautiful and Inexpensive LED Lighting
The lighting on the wine cellar was gorgeous. Light-emitting diode (LED) ribbon lights incorporated across the display row gave the whole cellar a warm and inviting feel to it. Furthermore, the fact that LED lights were utilized, the client will be able to benefit cost-wise. LED lights are very bright but use only a fraction of the power of a normal light bulb thus making the power consumption of these lighting fixtures very minimal. Moreover, LED lights are proven to be long lasting.
